In the past your domain provider may have registered your domains on your behalf like company.co.nz or company.net.nz. Recently a new domain suffix has been created where you can just use company.nz.
This would mean your email address would be something like john@company.nz, and your website would be www.company.nz
You have 6 months to register your existing domain with the .nz suffix (as long as you are the unique holder of the existing domain) at which time this domain would be available to anyone who wishes to purchase it.
If you would like to secure your .nz domain name and align and manage it with your existing domains then you should contact your domain provider. The costs to do this should be in line with domain fees you already pay with that provider. It would be our recommendation that you register this domain through an existing provider that you use as this simplifies ongoing management and changes you may want to make in the future.
