Focus Technology Group joins the national conversation at NZ Tech Marketers Conference

From Invercargill to the national stage, Focus Technology Group will be represented at this year’s NZ Tech Marketers Conference, taking place on 10 September 2026 at The Maritime Room in Auckland, joining technology marketers from across New Zealand to share ideas, strategies and experiences shaping the industry.

Focus Marketing Manager Tina Guina will join the session “Your Best Growth Channel Already Exists: Your Customers”, exploring how technology businesses can look beyond customer acquisition and create growth through the relationships they already have.

The conversation will cover customer lifecycle marketing, advocacy, referrals, customer champions, customer stories and the influence customers can have on the decisions of their peers.

For Focus, it’s a conversation that closely reflects how our own approach to marketing has evolved.

Your customers are more than customers

Businesses naturally spend a lot of time thinking about acquiring their next customer.

But what happens after someone becomes a customer can be just as important.

Long-term relationships create opportunities to better understand customers, help them get more value from technology and, when the relationship is right, give them a platform to share their own experiences.

At Focus, some of our strongest marketing stories haven’t started with a campaign brief. They’ve started with conversations with the businesses and people we already work alongside.

That thinking has helped create platforms including The Digital Roast Podcast, The Better Business Series and The Creator Series, where customers, partners and technology specialists can share their experiences, ideas and perspectives in their own words.

Rather than simply telling people what Focus does, these stories show what technology, partnership and better business can look like in the real world.

From customer relationships to customer stories

Customer advocacy isn’t simply about asking someone for a testimonial.

It’s about creating relationships strong enough that customers genuinely want to share their experiences.

For a regional technology company, those relationships have always mattered.

Focus has grown alongside businesses and communities throughout the South Island, and being local has given our teams the opportunity to understand not only the technology our customers use, but the businesses behind it.

The NZ Tech Marketers Conference provides an opportunity to share some of what we’ve learned from turning those relationships into customer stories, conversations and advocacy, while learning how other technology marketers across New Zealand are approaching the same challenge.

Creating better business from the South

Being invited to contribute to a national industry conversation is something we’re proud of, particularly for a business whose story began in Invercargill.

But the thinking behind it remains very simple.

Listen to your customers. Understand their stories. Create experiences worth talking about.

Because sometimes your next opportunity for growth isn’t about finding another audience.

It already exists in the relationships you’ve created.

Create stronger relationships. Create better business. Create with Focus.
