Overview

Established in 1996 and situated in Christchurch, Trends Kitchens is a privately held firm specialising in the design, fabrication, and installation of premium, bespoke kitchens and joinery for clients spanning both individuals and businesses throughout New Zealand. Their Needs

Back in 2016, Trends Kitchen were using MYOB’s Account Right, but they were needing better reporting, possibly needing job costing and, due to importing more products and basic stock management.

They were also looking for a new accounting package that could integrate with their own in-house job management program.

How We Helped

According to Andrea McKeown, company administrator for Trends Kitchen “Focus listened to our requirements and recommended MYOB Advanced. We had multiple meetings for brainstorming which were followed up with Project Status Reports outlining current key activities and, if there were any issues, how they were going to be rectified before going live. These reports also had the budget value, the work in progress value and total invoiced which was great to see how spending was tracking. Focus had a team working with us, and they were all great at listening to our needs.  Each of them had an area of expertise so would work with us recommending solutions and solving any issues in that area.

Moreover, we have got a much better accounting system at the recommendation of Focus, and with the functionality of Fetch we are now much more automated with less manual keying.

Andrea McKeown: “We were very impressed with the Focus team collaboration resulting in a great roll out of MYOB Advanced, any issues were dealt with quickly. Once MYOB Advanced was implemented, we took some time to become more familiar with it, then after a few years we added the Fixed Asset’s Module which has been great for managing the depreciation.  Also, in mid-2022, we had the opportunity to implement Fetch to automate our accounts payable processing.  This took a while due to us having many suppliers, Anne was with us every step of the way and the outcome has been very beneficial to us with much less manual keying. Focus is very responsive with us; they do seek to find the best solution for our business.  The team at Focus are knowledgeable, very obliging and are customer focused, we highly recommend.
