Would your data survive a significant fire or theft? Do you know whether your MYOB EXO Databases are being regularly backed up? And if so, are these running successfully and is a copy being taken offsite?
A backup or the process of backing up refers to making copies of data so that the additional copies may be used to restore the original after a data loss event.
Backups are primarily used to restore data in the event of a disaster resulting in data loss or to restore a small number of files after they have been accidently deleted or corrupted.
There are many different means of backing up and storing your data, depending on your site configuration and your IT Provider. It is important that you as the owner of the data KNOW and can VERIFY that your backups are occurring and being stored offsite.
If you have any uncertainty about this then please check with your IT provider and gain assurance that your backup strategy is sound.
Good Backup strategies don’t occur at a point in time, rather your backups need to be regularly checked and monitored.
